HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY EVERYONE!

It’s the end of the term for most of us and we wanted to say a very BIG thank you to ISIC coordinators, teachers, parents, and carers for supporting your young person with the Ambassador program through a rather difficult term. We also wish to express our absolute gratitude to our Council partners who have supported us during the extended lockdowns.
We did manage to get a few face-to-face workshops in for a lucky few, but none the less there were so many online highlights throughout the term in our ICHAT sessions. These included some fabulous guest presenters during National Science Week and for our regular ICHAT sessions, and some great topics that kept Ambassadors engaged from start to finish such as ‘Fast Fashion’, Dolphins and Whales, Repair Workshops and Green Washing and the influence of Social Media.
There may be a few sessions in term 4 but that depends on what the pathway back to onsite learning looks like, which hopefully, we will hear about very soon. Mandy will keep you posted, and fingers, toes, and everything else crossed that we can also run our term 4 face-to-face workshops as part of the ‘i sea i care’ usual program!
In the meantime, here are a few fun things to help you help the environment during the holidays:
Museums Victoria have lecture next week all about Treasures of The Deep Sea
Spring Clean Your Patch although we can’t meet up in groups to do clean-ups but Spring Clean Your Patch is still on and you can do it in your street.
The Great Southern Bioblitz initiative is on now! This is a citizen science recording flora and fauna across a month. Each council area signs up so check it out if you’re interested.
Finally, we can’t tell you how much the ICHATS have lifted Mandy and Jacqui’s spirits, your kids are awesome and you should be very proud.
Enjoy the break from screen time over the next two weeks and we hope you get out in nature as much as possible.
The more we are in nature, the more we will be FOR nature.
