We had a great day on Monday at Hastings Primary School for our Peer Teaching Workshop. After teaching useful tips and tricks to effectively communicate, Jacqui taught the Ambassadors a range of fun ocean-related activities. The Ambassadors loved learning about some of the amazing species residing in our local bays, and they had so much fun learning, and then teaching the activities! As always, we focus on positive messages about how our simple choices and actions can help our marine friends!
The Ambassadors practised teaching the activities to each other, and many commented that they didn’t realise how much fun teaching could be! They then became the teachers and did an excellent job of teaching the younger class about the marine environment including some common issues and solutions! The younger students had a great time and they loved being so involved in the hands-on activities!
It is so inspiring to witness these young environmental leaders gain the confidence in just a few hours to learn and then effectively teach our marine activities. They acted as true Ambassadors and supported each other brilliantly throughout the day! Thank you so much to Hastings Primary School for hosting the workshop and as always to the wonderful teachers, parents and carers that transported our Ambassadors to the workshop, without you it would not be possible!
