Last week we celebrated National Science Week with a clip about a Citizen Science project called Operation Sponge, an initiative undertaken on the Mornington Peninsula only a few years ago. This project bought together hundreds of volunteers in the name of conversation to save a very important sponge habitat at Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron. This video gives a brief overview of some of the challenges, processes, and successes of this project, and just how much fun science can be! If you would like more information about Operation Sponge, and a range of other awesome Citizen Science projects please contact Mandy Robertson on education@dolphinresearch.org.au
