RARE PHOTO OF TWO WHALE SPECIES AT CAPE SCHANCK …

When whale watching in the Two Bays region we are often treated to some spectacular sights.

From time to time we see things such as dolphins accompanying whales or maybe we may see two species of whale in the same area but rarely do we see two whale species travelling together.

This is exactly what Nathan Woods photographed recently at Cape Schanck… a southern right whale, seemingly travelling alongside a humpback whale.
Thanks for sharing Nathan!

The humpback whale, furthest, has a dorsal fin visible. The southern right whale has about 1/4 of its head visible closest. The graphics below will help you picture what you are seeing in the image.
