CASEY COASTAL WORKSHOP FUN AT WARNEET!

Sunny skies greeted us at the Warneet Nature Reserve for our Coastal Workshop! First up was a session with Manda and her team at Parks Victoria discussing indigenous and non-indigenous fauna and other amazing artefacts found in this area. Then it was on to a weeding workshop with Sally and Jason from the Friends of Warneet to learn about indigenous and non-indigenous plants in the reserve, and Ambassadors got hands-on and took to the weeding with gusto!

Our afternoon session at Warneet Picnic ground started with a Climate Change game, learning about the impacts of food production and global emissions. Ambassadors absolutely loved their session with the fabulous Lionel from Living Culture who wowed everyone with his talk on bush medicine, amazing show-and-tell with some amazing indigenous artefacts, and much more!

Ambassadors were then treated to a barbecue in the beautiful surrounds at the Warneet Yacht Club and all made it home before the rain hit! Thank you to Jen and her team from our awesome partners at the City of Casey, and the fantastic Living Culture, Parks Victoria and the Friends of Warneet, and of course to the ISIC teachers and parent/carers for transporting Ambassadors throughout the day!
