Adopt a dolphin

DD

DD is one of Port Phillip’s common dolphins. The image is a recent ID photograph taken in June 2020. DD was born in 2012 to a mother we call Square Notch.  In 2013 DD suffered an injury to its dorsal fin, possibly from a boat propeller.

DD is now regularly sighted with other dolphins and doesn’t seem to be at all affected by its “damaged dorsal” fin. Which is how DD got its name.

We aren’t sure if DD is a male or a female but are sure that future surveys will help to shed light on this.

Adopt-A-Dolphin is a wonderful gift for a loved one, yourself and of course, our dolphins and bays.
