Where & How to Spot Whales

Find out the challenges of spotting whales in an on-line conversation with DRI’s David Donnelly, founder of the Two Bays Whale Project.

Sighting whales is an art that takes patience and a sharp eye.  Often there are only slight signs of a distant ‘blow’ a kilometre or more out to sea. David shares his knowledge from many decades of working with whales from Antarctica to the tropics. 

He also discusses the Two Bays Whale Project, a partnership with the Dolphin Research Institute and Wildlife Coast Cruises (who run whale trips from Phillip Island and Wilson’s Promontory.

The purpose is to build community appreciation and scientific knowledge about the whales visiting our Two Bays region.
