Over 60 ‘i sea, i care’ Ambassadors from our Melbourne Group watched (and smelled) a tonne of rubbish being cleaned out of a gross pollution trap. The trap and the wetlands and Banyan Reserve Carrum Downs, treats storm water pollution that is washed off our streets and stops most of it from going into Port Phillip.

ISIC Ambassadors inspect stormwater pollution that has been emptied from the litter traps.

Ambassadors also looked at the living part of the wetlands and tested water samples.

Later, they all walked the lower parts of Kananook Creek to learn more about how these wetlands and many drains connect to the bay.

The Mornington Peninsula News Group sent a photographer so we should get coverage of the messages across our region.

Ambassadors will share their experiences with their school communities and we hope help us to be more careful about what we put in our drains in the first place.
