In the first week of the school holidays, DRI ran a very successful education progam for students from St Augustine’s School. More than thirty primary students had a ball at Balnarring beach in the morning and back at our centre in Hastings in the afternoon.
This was a day that combined two of our Education Programs; ‘Rock Pool and Beach Explorers’ and ‘Don’t Pee in my Pool’. In the morning at Balnarring, the students saw some of the many marine treasures to be found along our coastline.
In the afternoon they learnt about the issues facing the marine environment, and how everyone has a role to play in protecting our coasts and bays.
Thanks to our educators, Jess and Kristin, for making this such a fun day for the students from St Augustine’s School! And well done, Melbourne’s weather – perfect all day.
