Janet is a multi-award-winning artist exhibiting regularly in Australia and overseas. She has been exhibiting and selling her miniatures throughout Australia and overseas for many years and has won numerous awards for her ‘little treasures’.
“My art is my passion, especially colour pencil and graphite. Drawing our unique wildlife and botanical subjects with intensity, personality and precise detail, I want to engage and inspire viewers with the beauty and uniqueness of our natural world.”
“I use my drawings to inspire and engage people, to connect them with our beautiful wildlife so they are more aware and more likely to help preserve the environment and nurture our wildlife.”
Platypus are fascinating creatures, which were initially thought to be a created idea of parts sewn together, but we know that they are real. They live most of their time underwater, twirling in the water chasing shrimp and other food, which makes them unique and mysterious.
Janet spent lots of time watching them swim underwater, sketching in the very low light of the enclosure so I could draw one in underwater action. A beautiful subject.
