Tuesday November 13 – 9:30am start
DON”T FORGET WE ARE PLASTIC FREE!!!
We will be working down at Jacks Beach again in Crib Point. MELWAYS 165 A7
Turn onto Woolleys Rd and drive for about 1km. Before you reach the right turning bend, there is a layby and car park entrance on your left. There will be a Dolphin Research Institute banner outside. Parking is limited so we will direct you to triple park as most of you will all leave together. If you need to leave early then park outside on the layby.
Ambassadors will be learning about the Indigenous history of the area, local frog species and how to identify them, hands-on helping with weeding, and a ‘tracks and scats’ walk- and-talk into the park, looking at both native and pest flora and fauna.
Clothes should be appropriate for the weather conditions on the day (could be anything!!) Long sleeves and long pants are strongly advised as the mozzies will be active and the plants can be scratchy when weeding. Closed-toed shoes are essential as there may be snakes and very likely bull ants.
I will look at the forecast a day or two before and email you/post on the website if there are any concerns.
Start time will be 9.30am and finish is approx 2pm.
Bring the usual notebooks, cameras, snacks/drinks. etc. There will be a BBQ lunch provided at the end. We can cater for vegetarians, but if anyone has other dietary requirements – they will need to bring their own lunch/bread for the sausages etc.
