Mandy and Jacqui were so excited to finally get over to Geelong to conduct Peer Teaching Workshops face-to-face with our Geelong, Surf Coast, and Bellarine Peninsula Ambassadors! The students had a great time learning about our amazing marine animals and habitats, including how we as humans can impact the marine environment.

An Ambassador running the Beachcombing activity has the Grade 2’s rapt attention!

After Mandy, taught the Ambassadors a range of activities, and after plenty of practice time with Jacqui, the Ambassadors then used their new knowledge and skills to teach a grade 2 class!

The young children all think they know the name of this shark!

Through engaging and hands-on teaching activities the Ambassadors become more confident at communicating the environmental message and feel more empowered in their role as Ambassadors to help their communities contribute to a more positive environmental future!

After the workshop, many Ambassadors admitted that they enjoyed teaching much more than they had expected and that teaching the younger students was so much fun!
Congratulations to our wonderful ‘i sea, i care’ Ambassadors, and many thanks to our host school Holy Spirt, and of course our ISIC coordinators/teachers, and parent/carers for making these experiences possible! #peerteachingworkshops #marineambassadors #iseaicare #itstheirfuture
