Casey Boat Trips Tuesday 22 November — The trips are going

By 17/11/2016No Comments

UPDATE – 8.50am — The weather is OK and the trips are on.  Bring a jacket.

The boat trip on Western Port to the fur seal colony at Seal Rocks is a great way to start the Ambassadors’ year and hopefully motivate them to become strong champions for our marine environment.

The boat picks us up and returns us to Stony Point Pier in STONY POINT. MELWAYS 195 F5. There is parking on a car park opposite the caravan park and general store. This is sometimes staffed and charges a fee. Alternatively you can park along the layby at 90 degrees to the road.

There are two departure times morning and afternoon and the numbers will be capped at approx 85 per trip. Places are on a first come basis. I will let you know if one trip fills up asap. Please arrive 30 mins before departure and meet on the pier. The first sailing is at 10:30 am and the afternoon sailing is at 1:15 pm. There are toilets across the car park as well as on the boat.

Cost for each person is $35 (adults and students). Choice of payment is cash on the day in a sealed and labelled envelope or school invoice

If your current Ambassadors missed last year’s trip due to a late start, then you are very welcome to bring both groups to catch up with the timing.

Weather conditions can be anything at this time of year, so please come prepared for all possibilities. It can be cold on the boat when we are moving even on a warm day and there may be spray too.

We will be in close contact with the boat in the days before and let you know of any concerns or updates via email and also on the website

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THIS TRIP MAY BE CANCELLED DUE TO ADVERSE WEATHER. Efforts will be made to reschedule if possible. No invoices will be sent until the trip has taken place
