Our Casey Ambassadors had an awesome time today for their workshop on Peer Teaching at Botanic Ridge Primary School. After a long 2019, we are absolutely loving the opportunity to catch up with our Ambassadors in person, albeit with limited numbers to adhere to Covid guidelines. Ambassadors had a great time learning about our amazing marine animals and habitats, including how we as humans can impact upon the marine environment. Through highly engaging activities our Ambassadors are empowered to feel they have a role to play in contributing to a more positive environmental future!
Armed with their new knowledge and skills, the Ambassadors then taught a younger class! Through role-plays, storytelling and support, the Ambassadors quickly gained the confidence to share their new knowledge. It was so inspiring to watch our Ambassadors supporting each other while teaching the younger students!
After the workshop, many Ambassadors commented on their newly found confidence in communicating the environmental message, and that they did not realise how much they could have while helping the planet! The younger students participated with great enthusiasm and listened with rapt attention to their older cohorts. Kids teaching kids is so inspiring!
Congratulations to our wonderful ‘i sea, i care’ Casey Ambassadors, and many thanks to Blair and Botanic Ridge Primary for hosting our workshop, and the teachers, parents and carers who transported our Ambassadors.
