During Term 2 the Education Team was thrilled to catch up with the ISIC Marine Ambassadors in person! Adhering to Covid guidelines we minimised student numbers which meant we visited many more schools! We embraced the opportunity to visit so many schools and hear about the actions the Ambassadors were undertaking to raise environmental awareness and develop conservation solutions, and we were extremely impressed!
We also celebrated World Environment Week 2021 with a daily online ‘ i sea i chat’ hearing from some inspiring people who work and volunteer in the environmental conservation field! Back by popular demand our regular I SEA I CHAT online sessions were again a hit with Ambassadors! Ambassadors, ISIC coordinators and the Education team all agreed these sessions have been a shining light that constantly inspired and motivated us to keep on swimming!
We have also had a great time getting to know each other outside of our face-to-face workshops, and many students have expressed their absolute gratitude for the additional support! Thank you SO much to our Council partners, host schools, coordinators, teachers, and carers/parents for making these workshops possible!
