It looks like even dolphins were in Melbourne for the Grand Final! This photo was taken today with dolphins near the Queen Street bridge, heading towards the Charles Grimes bridge. Thanks Lyndal Harrison for the photo.

The Dolphin Research Institute had dolphins sighted near the Yarra boat sheds last week as well – perhaps they’d come in early for the Grand Final Parade? As always, DRI appreciates receiving sightings from the public; the more data we have about dolphins’ movements, the more knowledge we have for now and the future.

It’s easy to become a marine citizen scientist – report your sightings to www.dolphinresearch.org.au  This is a quick and easy way to help protect dolphins, and every sighting is valuable.

Looking forward to receiving your sightings of dolphins and whales – if you want to know more about DRI, come along to our Walk for Western Port
