We will be working down in the village of Point Lonsdale. The two main locations for the days activities are the foreshore near the shops, (between Albert St and Loch St. there is an undercover area with tables and a BBQ that we will aim to use), and the rock pools below the lighthouse. However, this year the rock pool session will be the first activity of the day so we will meet at the lighthouse first
Ambassadors will be learning about Indigenous history of the area, sea grass habitats and how our citizen science program works on dolphin and boat monitoring plus the rock pool fauna.
Clothes should be appropriate for the weather conditions on the day (could be anything!!) I will look at the forecast a day or two before and email you if any concerns. However, we can shelter for most of the sessions.
Start time will be 9.30am and finish is approx 2pm.
A timetable will be sent out nearer the day when the schedule is confirmed. The Indigenous session has been booked for 12.30pm so lunch will be around 1.30pm.
Bring the usual notebooks, cameras etc. And snacks/drinks. We can cater for vegetarians but if anyone has other dietary requirements then they will need to bring their own lunch/bread for the sausages etc.
DON'T FORGET WE ARE AIMING FOR WORKSHOPS TO BE PLASTIC FREE!!!
This event has a Google Hangouts video call.
